If none of the speculation is true, why hide?

Recently, due to backlash, Taren decided she was going to "take a break" from social media.

She decided she was going to make her Instagram page private on the weekends and not check her timelines on FB and Twitter as well. Supposedly to give herself a "digital detox". Now, what mother of 3 kids would have time to be all on social media with her digital devices "glued" to her fingers in the first place and successfully attend to her kids?

Right. No attentive mother you know. That's because and I reiterate, she does not have custody of them. So, she is as free as a bird to do what she wants with her free time.

So, the once open and transparent #Taren916 aka Taren Guy has decided to be more private and less attached to the same Internet that got her the notoriety that she so desperately sought several years ago. She cannot handle the fact that her so called "open book" life and choices are now being called into question and the same people who might have followed her on social media are questioning her choices due to the fact that she serves as representation at events featuring black women, including empowerment events.

She calls the people who don't praise her or leave less than positive comments "trolls". Surely she didn't think that with the fame she seeks, would come all good comments and praise, especially since she wants people to be consumers of her brand and all things associated with her brand.

Surely she didn't think people were not going to question why she is pregnant again for a 4th time and not married. Surely she didn't think that.

The bottom line is she cannot handle the criticism nor can she handle the questioning about the loss of custody of her kids. Instead of addressing it, she hides, hoping things will go away. But unfortunately for her, the questions will keep coming.

She is too arrogant to see that her brand will fade when people wake up and see that her choices are questionable. They will realize "Hey I don't want a baby mama representing me at events on a national level." She is being sponsored by companies who obviously either didn't do their research about her or she wasn't as forthcoming about her brand with them.

Either way, Taren916 aka Taren Guy is a fraud. You are just a video click and money to her. Why support someone who is neglectful of her children and would rather seek fame instead of being a mother to her children?

Custody is being called into question

In previous videos, Taren claimed to be an "open book" to her viewers/followers/subscribers in order for her to be more transparent and more relatable to them. In those previous videos, she discussed her journey as a twice teenage mom, to not only 1 but 2 Autistic children. She has discussed the deaths of her mother and grandmother, as apparently they were her support systems. She has also discussed being the other woman (mistress), in several videos might I add, and has discussed single mothers being damaged goods.

She claimed she has learned from her mistakes and wanted to be an inspiration to others who might have made the same decisions she has and got the same results, being an unwed mother. She also has daughter, of whom she does not have custody, that she will be using to help push her branched off Love and Learn Your Hair for Kids tour. Some of you reading this might say, "Well, there is nothing wrong with her not having custody of her daughter, if the father has custody." That is true, but the circumstances under which WHY her daughter's father has custody is being called into question.

Taren not only neglected her daughter and left her home alone, she neglected her two Autistic sons, of whom she also does not have custody. Ask her where they are and who they are with and she will fidget and give you a vague answer. She made a car accident video a year or so ago and mentioned her kids, citing she was glad they were not with her and were not hurt. Of course they were not with her because she does not have custody of them. Duh.

The videos you do see of her with her daughter, why is that child always in uniform? Never in PJs, never in regular clothes? Because she doesn't have custody and can only pick her up or drop her off to school with visitation.

When you see her with her kids, it is usually for her own agenda and promoting yet another product, business or organization to make money. The Faces of Autism, great idea, poor execution due to one big problem. Can't promote your idea if the inspirations for your idea aren't around (her sons).

Some of you might feel sympathy for her because of her background, which is fine, however, why would you continue to support someone who continues to make the same mistakes over and over again? How can you give a pass to a fully aware, of supposedly "sound" mind, grown woman who, yet again, gets pregnant for a 4th time out of wedlock?

How do you embrace that without looking dysfunctional yourself? You can't.

Petition to revoke BET sponsorship and event representation

#Taren916 was invited to speak on a panel presented by #BET called Leading Women Defined Summit #LWD #LWDBET, that included the likes of our own first lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama, Carol's Daughter Founder, Lisa Price, BET CEO, Debra Lee, and Attorney and TV Personality, Star Jones, just to name a few. And then there was #Taren916.

The caliber of women on that panel represent power, strength and true empowerment when it came to represent black women, however, Taren's presence was the "anomaly" as she does not represent any of that. Taren's presence was a reminder of the perpetuation of stereotypes that plague black women, including having the highest incidence of out of wedlock births in the country.

Perhaps it was an oversight on #BET's part to not research their panel participants, but we cannot allow women like #Taren916 to be representative of what black women are about because she is not any of that. The message she sends is that it is okay to have multiple children out of wedlock, it is okay to be a mistress to a married man, as long as you have a big afro, make videos talking in circles about a bunch of nothing and post to social media, people will follow you.

Is #Taren916 the type of woman you want to represent you at these types of events? Among women who have actually done something positive with themselves and are not a walking stereotype?

Petition to revoke Motions sponsorship

#Taren916 is sponsored by Motions, whose parent company is Unilever. Her sponsorship allows her to travel around the world doing natural hair tours, which is fine. What is not fine or okay is that she lost custody of, not voluntarily turned over, all 3 of her kids due to neglect of them, two of which have Autism.

When you ask her now about her kids, she skirts around the question, never answering directly or will, at best, give a vague, short answer. Why? Because she doesn't have custody. Ask yourself this question, why don't you ever hear or see kids playing or running around in the background of her videos? What happened to her Faces of Autism non-profit and why did promotion for "donations" seemingly just drop off? Ask her for financials on her non-profit and see what answer you get. *crickets*

Natural hair or not, is this the type of woman you want to be representative of you at events that discuss natural hair, self love, self-acceptance and empowerment of women? Someone who is careless and reckless when it comes to childbearing without a stable home/family and getting pregnant within a year of meeting every man she "dates"? Someone who is okay being a mistress to a man still legally married?

If not, sign this petition. Let Unilever know that you will NOT support or purchase products that sponsor women like her.

#sirmikemancini aka Michael McConnell got married in Santorini, Greece in 2010 to the woman on the right. He cheated on with his wife with Taren in 2012 and they both started flaunting their "relationship" on social media in 2013. Taren got pregnant by him roughly a year (Dec 2013) after they started messing around and announced her pregnancy on social media. Mike is still not divorced from his wife.
